3 May 2016 This file contains some notes on problems with GESLA files which users may wish to investigate further if they use the data. Problems include mention of tsunami signals in the records. The notes are in no way intended to give a complete set of all the problems. The notes are divided in Groups 1, 2 and 3 because they were contributed by 3 groups of users. Groups 1 and 2 refer to files in the GESLA-1 data set and so the filenames used in that data set are given. These references may not all be relevant now to the corresponding GESLA-2 files because some problems may have been fixed. But we are including this information here in case the problems have not been fixed and so need to be mentioned. Beware that the file names could have changed between GESLA-1 and -2. Group 3 is short start on comments on the GESLA-2 files. Users of the data set are asked to let us know of other problems (to gesla.help@gmail.com). NOTE: in the following, dates are in "English" format day/month/year. Group 1 ******* This group shows the filename used in GESLA-1 followed by some remarks. ---------------------------------------------- acapulco_a,gro.-316a-mexico-uhslc tsunamis on 28/7/1957 and 23/5/1960. ---------------------------------------------- adak,alaska-040a-usa-uhslc and adak-001-glossdm-bodc Tsunamis from: Kamchatka Earthquake of 4/11/1952, Chile Earthquake of 23/5/1960, Andreanof Islands Earthquake of 7/5/1986.
