Station PAVASAS
===============

This record stems from a short deployment of a POL 'Mark 1' BPR by the
Instituto Oceanografico of the University of Sao Paulo in 1987. PAVASAS
stands for 'Pontos Anfidromicos e Variacoes Sazonais no Atlantico Sul
(Amphidromic Points and Seasonal Variations in the South Atlantic)' which
is the IOUSP research project. The deployment was in 104m water on the
Brazilian shelf.

(a) Pressure (mbar) from a strain gauge sensor
(b) Pressure (mbar) from a digiquartz sensor
(Temperature data are also available from original data files)

The data in (b) are to be preferred over (a). Constituents
from a tidal analysis of the data show good correspondence with the Texas
CSR3.0 model.
